Sustainability Initiatives & Responsible Tourism
The Frames is a Certified Ecotourism & Accredited Australian Tourism business. Each luxury retreat was originally designed and built with sustainability at its core. They are thermally efficient and feature double glazed windows, screen shades to control sunlight and insulated walls and floors. In addition, a number of eco-friendly practises have been implemented. There’s a Tesla charging station for electric vehicles, bio sewerage system that recycles greywater for irrigation and low-maintenance gardens featuring hardy native plants fed by under-surface drippers. Even the tours are sustainable. Guests are encouraged to experience the Riverland region on foot or via the eco-friendly water-based tours and litter is collected and disposed of in the rare occasion it appears.
