This all-singing, all-dancing hotel has something for just about everyone, and whatever you can’t find here is bound to be available in the Sanctuary Cove Marina on the Gold Coast. Within five minutes you could find yourself at an art gallery, restaurant, café or theatre, or otherwise take a ten-minute drive to reach any of three much-loved theme parks: Warner Bros Movie World, Dreamworld or Wet ‘n’ Wild.
The InterContinental Sanctuary Cove itself is a stately resort comprising lush gardens, beautiful fountains and the grand Great House, with five restaurants, bars and cafés to choose from. The property is also prime for action and relaxation, boasting two golf courses, two outdoor swimming pools, a country club with a large lap pool, tennis courts, a gym and fitness classes, as well as a kids’ club for younger guests and a stretch of lagoon beach for those looking to unwind.
Then, when it comes to the InterContinental’s guestrooms, you can expect a light and airy abode with a balcony overlooking the grounds. There’s also a separate bathtub and shower in the en suite and the chance to upgrade to Club Level for complimentary drinks and snacks in the exclusive lounge, an added luxury to treat yourself to here on the Gold Coast.

The 243 guestrooms at InterContinental Sanctuary Cove are positioned to face the gardens, lagoon pool, marina and/or golf club, with a balcony in each of them and a sunny, airy ambience. They start at a spacious 37sq m but the largest of suites goes up to 230sq m, all featuring Wi-Fi, iPod docking stations, a bathtub and separate shower. Any stay can be upgraded to include Club Continental perks such as access to the exclusive lounge, where drinks and canapes are offered daily.

This entry-level room overlooks the garden or golf club at InterContinental and comes with a floorplan of 37sq m, a separate bathtub and shower, furnished balcony and choice of one king-size or two double beds.
Lagoon Pool Room
This room overlooks the swimming pool at InterContinental and comes with a floorplan of 37sq m, a separate bathtub and shower, furnished balcony and choice of one king-size or two double beds.
Marina View Room

Queenslander Suite
This 66sq m suite provides that extra space for two people to spread out in, with views of the garden from the balcony as well as a king-size bed and separate bathtub and shower.
The Homestead Suite
Slightly larger at 67sq m, the Homestead Suite comes with two balconies with views of the garden and marina, a living and dining room, king bedroom and bathroom with separate tub and shower. A dressing room and walk-in wardrobe also feature.
Federation Suite
Relax in 178sq m of luxury, comprising an open-plan living room with kitchen, lounge space, dining area and sliding doors that open onto a balcony looking out over the pool, gardens and marina. In addition, the spacious bathroom comes with an egg-shaped bathtub and twin showers.
Manor Suite
This grand suite encompasses 230sq m complete with an elegant living room, fireplace, baby grand piano, three balconies, dining room, pantry and bar, as well as a four-poster king-size bed and deep-soak tub.Facilities/Amenities
There’s a fantastic range of facilities here at InterContinental Sanctuary Cove, including a Country Club which has everything you need to stay fit and active while away: five tennis courts, a 25m heated lap pool, exercise classes, a gym, yoga and Pilates studio, spa and hair salon, plus a crèche for little ones. On top of this, the InterContinental features two golf courses – The Pines and The Palms – as well as two outdoor pools: the Terrace Pool, adjacent to the Pool House bar, and the saltwater Lagoon Pool, made to resemble a beach across one acre of land. While children will love splashing around here, they’ll also get the chance to enjoy adventures aplenty at the Planet Trekkers Kids’ Club, aimed at those between the ages of 4 and 12 with activities like torch safaris and golf buggy tours, plus games they can play indoors too.

This breakfast haunt is clad in pale wood and green tones, with doors that open out onto a terrace where you can take your fresh fruit, pastries, juice and other treats.

This BBQ grill restaurant is a refined place specialising in local meat and seafood, prepared over a wood fire for that distinctive smoky taste. Choose from an a la carte menu or six-course tasting menu, paired with a fine wine from the cellar which features no less than 300 varieties! In addition, come to The Fireplace earlier in the day for their signature High Coffee, combining beautifully crafted sweet and savoury snacks with a caffeine hit.

Sanctuary Cove is a real playground for kids and adults alike, with the Marine Village just a couple of minutes away on foot. Explore the many restaurants, cafés, bars, shops, art galleries and the theatre here, or have a go at sailing the Gold Coast Broadwater. There are then three theme parks within a ten-minute drive – Warner Bros Movie World, Dreamworld and Wet ‘n’ Wild Water Park – not to mention two golf courses at the InterContinental Sanctuary Cove itself. Take your pick between The Palms and The Pines, the former designed by Ross Watson and the latter by Arnold Palmer, or have a go at both! On top of this, the resort is a big hit with children, not only with its kids’ club and two swimming pools, but also the Illusions Magic Show that takes place every weekend.
