Full accommodation information

Only accessible by helicopter and feeling utterly remote in these crystalline seas, there’s nothing but the pristine shores of Hazard Bay, ethereal night skies and Great Barrier Reef’s rich marine life for company here at Orpheus Island Lodge.

This is pure luxury for your stay in Australia and is considered the countries most exclusive and luxurious resorts for sure, though Orpheus Island Lodge is also well in touch with its surroundings, boasting admirable eco-conscious credentials through reef protection projects, sourcing power from solar panels and growing fresh produce onsite to supply its multi-award-winning fine-dining menus.

The entire resort is made up of just a handful of sumptuous suites and guestrooms, meaning personal service from start to finish and an even greater sense of calm when spending time around the beachfront grounds, on the sundeck or in Orpheus Island Lodge’s magnificent infinity pool.

There is a gentle ambience here, no less than such pristine surroundings deserve and helped no end by the gourmet cuisine, holistic spa and timeless views that can be savoured throughout your stay.

And when visiting Orpheus Island Lodge, as tough as it is to pull yourself away from your suite, the gardens or spa, a world of relaxing outdoor adventure also awaits. Sea kayaking; snorkelling and scuba diving; stand-up paddleboards plus private motorised dinghies; sailing; island-hopping and everything from helicopter rides to eco-tours and guided birdwatching walks will leave you feeling at one with this ethereal place.

Orpheus Island Lodge has just 14 rooms, split between private patio guestrooms, larger suites and four generous Beachfront Villas. Think bright white walls, contemporary furnishings and lots of light, cool tiled bathrooms, a terrace or garden for every room and mix of sea or garden views, as well as extras such as an iPod docking station, complimentary minibar and espresso machine subtly dotted throughout. King-size beds, Li’Tya toiletries, flat-screen TVs, a lounge area and air-conditioning also come as standard in these chic yet intimate abodes.

North Beachfront Villa

The two-bedroom Beachfront Villa is a fantastic choice for families visiting Orpheus Island Lodge with its 1,000sq ft floorplan, separate living room, sea views and furnished terrace, multiple mod-cons and two en suite bathrooms.

As you’d quite rightly hope for and expect, it is the serenity of the setting, standard of cuisine and privacy of the suites that are the main draws when booking a room at Orpheus Island Lodge. That said, they are not short on creature comforts or first-class facilities here either, providing all of the equipment needed for a range of watersports plus a signature Gwandalan Spa, seafront infinity pool, games room and great concierge team to help arrange all manner of day trips.

There’s a real mix of outdoor activities available while staying on Orpheus Island Lodge, as immediately surrounding the resort you have instant beach access, yoga, the pool and spa, plus complimentary use of the hotel’s sea kayaks, catamarans and motorised dinghies which are always fun and a great way to explore the Great Barrier Reef on your own. A little further afield you could opt for an island-hopping tour and private picnic, yacht charter, a helicopter ride over the region or, of course, snorkelling, and scuba diving too.
