Aboard the Eastern & Oriental Express, there are 15 luxurious carriages that are created purely for your comfort, offering en-suite bathrooms, large viewing windows and air conditioning for the hot days travelling through Malaysia. Wander into the superb dining cars and indulge in the menu that offers traditional Peranakan dishes with a modern twist, and finish with a drink in the Piano Bar at the centre of the train. Stopping in Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Langkawi, Butterworth, and Johor before making it back to Singapore, this journey offers a mix of tranquillity aboard the train and adventure off the train. You’ll be able to explore each destination, from the skyscrapers of Kuala Lumpur and Johor to the vibrant cultures of Langkawi. In fact, one of the most exciting highlights of this tour is a cruise to Langkawi’s best snorkelling spot in Pulau Payar Marine Park.

Take the ultimate roundtrip train journey from Singapore, stopping in Gemas, Taman Negara, Kuala Lumpur, Penang and Johor along the way. Onboard, you’ll find two sumptuous restaurant cars that are both decorated in stunning floral motifs that mirror the Eastern regions. Whilst indulging in the freshly made dishes, enjoy the surrounding features of elm or rosewood panels all hand-painted in delicate flowers.

Eastern & Oriental Express features a unique menu that includes a variety of traditional Peranakan dishes, all repurposed with a modern twist. Classic Peranakan dishes are made by the dedicated chefs, with fresh, local ingredients that are sourced sustainably from the Peninsula of Malaysia. As the train passes through regions where the Peranakan culture is established, you can get a true taste of their cuisine and delicious flavours on board.

After your divine meal in the Dining Car, be sure to meet the fellow travellers on board at the social hub, the Piano Bar. Here, you can enjoy your favourite drink or try new cocktails whilst enjoying the vibrant designs that are inspired by Malaysia and Southeast Asia’s native Tiger Orchid flower. Watch as artists perform on the stage, including Nanyang Jazz musicians and vintage Malay music.
