Amansara has a rich history of welcoming distinguished guests from all walks of life, from royalty to modern day film stars, and it’s no wonder why.

With the relaxed, intimate feel of a boutique hotel, an uncomplicated design encourages you to adopt an almost meditative state as soon as you arrive. Spread over a single-story complex, each guestroom is beautifully simple, pools glisten and gently ripple from dawn till dusk and lush green foliage in communal areas provide a shady spot to escape the midday sun.

Then, with what appears to be no end of activities on offer, you’ll never be short of something to do during your visit to Siem Reap. Take a picnic and explore the local area by bike, or retreat to the traditional Khmer village house, owned by Amansara, located in the nearby Angkor Archaeological Park. Here you can partake in some elevenses as you gaze out to the beguiling royal bathing pool of Srah Srang, or alternatively have a true taste of Cambodia with a cookery lesson and perfect delectable dishes that you’ll be able to recreate once home. Perhaps line up a private yoga lesson to rebalance mind, body and soul, or take advantage of Amansara’s boat and set sail across the vast Tonle Sap Lake; a heavenly way to spend an afternoon amongst the exotic flora and fauna that have come to inhabit the region.

At the end of your time with Amansara, as you head off for the airport in one of King Sihanouk’s chauffeur-driven Mercedes you’ll be in no doubt that the dedicated staff – handpicked from the country’s top hospitality colleges – have gone above and beyond, so that you leave feeling completely rested, and fully restored.

The open-plan suites at Amansara come complete with floor-to-ceiling windows, allowing the natural light to pour in from the private courtyard outside, providing a peaceful haven in which to unwind. A king-size bed, en-suite with separate shower and island bathtub complete the picture, promising a comfortable stay no matter which suite type you opt for.

Amansara flaunts upscale facilities throughout. There are two swimming pools flanked with sun loungers, beckoning you after a day of exploration, and a spa that offers a variety of treatments, all using traditional herbs and natural ingredients. Four private rooms are each decked out with steam baths and showers, and there are plenty of opportunities for yoga at Amansara too. The three-hour complimentary babysitting service is a thoughtful touch for parents, allowing you to have some much-deserved alone time.

Since Amansara is so close to Siem Reap’s remnants of the fascinating Khmer Empire, there’s a wealth of activities to take advantage of during your stay. Daily guided tours provide excellent insights to local points of interest, including the Angkor ruins, though you can also move around Siem Reap by complimentary tuk-tuk. To really get immersed in the culture and identity of the region, look out for frequent visits that are made to the hotel by local historians and experts in all facets of Cambodian life. They run workshops to enhance your understanding of the complex background of this area, which in turn will make your visits to nearby temples and villages even more fulfilling.
