A stunning infinity pool is at its centre, and the accommodation is a mix of traditional thatched villas and pavilions, all of which afford stunning ocean and garden views. The bar, restaurants and spa are traditional, open-air structures ensuring gentle sea breezes and the scent of indigenous plants and trees as it wafts by.

At the resort, part of the Oberoi group of hotels, guests are treated to a plethora of activities dedicated to adventure or pure relaxation. The five-star PADI dive centre offers underwater enthusiasts the chance to sample the stunning marine world; alternatively, they can keep their feet dry on a mountain biking expedition. Meanwhile, the wellness centre beckons when utter pampering is required.

As expected in a five-star resort, the dining options are plentiful. The Sunbird Café serves breakfast and lunch in an alfresco dining space featuring an outdoor kitchen and intimate tables shaded by parasols or nestled under lofty palms. Located within the lush hotel gardens, the award-winning Lumbung Restaurant includes an open-sided, thatched structure and an alfresco courtyard. Named after the native geckos that you can hear at night, the open-air Tokek Bar serves fine wines, coffee and cocktails.
