Shamwari's Bayethe Lodge is a tented paradise with twelve luxurious and seductive tented suites shrouded by rich vegetation.

Each luxury tent features a private deck with plunge pool, hammock, sumptuous beds with electric blankets and fireplaces to keep you warm on the cooler mornings and evenings, and most provide the opportunity of bathing in the open air in an outdoor shower.

Bayethe Lodge is one of six luxurious lodges on the world-renowned Shamwari Private Game Reserve, an area of 61 770 acres of natural wilderness where over 5000 head of game roam freely including Africa's Big Five:

  • the lion,
  • elephant,
  • rhino,
  • buffalo and
  • leopard.

The reserve boasts a huge variety of birdlife including Fish Eagles, Secretary Birds and Pale Chanting Goshawks. 

Your days can be as full of activities as you wish, a normal day will start with an early morning wake up call followed by refreshments or breakfast before your first game drive of the day. Your experienced game ranger will provide you with insightful information about the reserves flora and fauna so you enjoy the very best game viewing on offer. Lunch is served at the main lodge building or you may decide to join a guided game walk, enjoy a selection of body treatments at the relaxation retreat or visit the Born Free Big Cat Sanctuary or Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre.

The lodge will offer alternating dining experiences including dining on the open deck, braai's, bush dinners and private dining in your luxury tented suite.
