Spend an afternoon immersing yourself in authentic Moroccan life with its colourful array of seasonal produce, spices, olives, pottery and more. History buffs can also explore the UNESCO-listed Portuguese City of Mazagan (El Jadida), with its striking fortifications and Gothic architecture.
Round off your stay with cycling, stand-up paddleboarding, Moroccan cooking classes, or a gourmet excursion to an oyster farm, followed by drinks and appetisers at the picturesque O Bar.
Sustainability Initiatives & Responsible Tourism
La Sultana Oualidia’s Conservation and Sustainability program is founded on several core environmental and cultural principles.
The resort strives to minimise waste and make the most of natural resources. This is particularly evident in its sourcing of local ingredients for its restaurants, which mainly come from the land and sea surrounding the property. Waste is managed through limiting single use items, like plastic straws, and recycling is practiced as much as possible. Food waste is supplied to a local farm in exchange for natural fertilizer and the resort is proudly 100% sustainable in its use of water.
La Sultana Oualidia’s conservation efforts are also aimed at preserving Moroccan heritage and supporting the local community. The building itself is made from local stone and is designed blend in with its natural surroundings. As a company, La Sultana also regularly donates to the national charity, Les Enfants de Dar Bouidar, which provides financial support for abandoned, orphaned or disabled children in Morocco.
