Sustainability Initiatives & Responsible Tourism
Africa Foundation
Africa Foundation’s partnership with &Beyond supports their core tenet of Care of the Land, Wildlife and People. They believe that, in order for wildlife to thrive, local populations need to experience the benefits of participation in conservation. This is becoming more relevant with building pressure from increased rural populations, limited resources and the limited ability of local governments to accommodate the social business and infrastructural needs of rural areas surrounding wildlife reserves. Their methodology empowers communities to grow their own capacity and to have an influence on decisions that have a direct impact on their lives, both from a social and economic point of view.
