Full accommodation information

The only Relais and Châteaux lodge in Botswana, Zarafa Camp has taken eco-friendly principles to the next level, using railway sleepers for flooring and furniture made from the mahogany washed up in the 2005 tsunami. The camp also has a solar farm which provides electricity, as well as a bio-gas plant that recycles waste into usable gas. Water is treated through a UV filtration system eliminating the use of disposable water bottles.

The four guest tents are made from canvas and are 1,000-ft in size with a lounge and large viewing deck that leads to a private plunge pool. The bedrooms are spacious with an en suite bathroom that has a large claw foot bath as well as indoor and outdoor showers.

Game viewing in this area is spectacular; Zarafa has a 320,000-acre reserve in Selinda, an area that links the Okavango Delta with the Chobe and Savute corridors. This area is home to lion, elephant, leopard, buffalo and even the rare wild dog. Bird-watching enthusiasts will find many bird species here - the skimmer colony is a highlight. Hippos and even elephants can often be sighted from the camp.

Each of Zarafa’s tents have photographic equipment and Swarovski binoculars for guests to use during their stay.
