The Makgadikgadi Salt pans make for a different experience to your expected Botswana trip as the landscape is very dry and resembles a moon’s landscape. The vast landscape allows for a different variety of game with different migratory patterns; this area is also home to indigenous bushmen and meerkats. Choose to explore the area by either quad bike or horse back.

The camp consists of just 10 canvas en suite tents, designed in 1940’s safari style. Only three of the tents are doubles, and each of these has an indoor and outdoor shower. The small number of tents makes for an intimate atmosphere, but you’ll need to book early to avoid disappointment!
There is no electricity in the tents, adding to the traditional safari atmosphere, but charging facilities are available in the main mess tent area. There is no internet or cell reception. Children of all ages are welcome at the camp.

The best time to visit to spot wildlife is from November to April, as zebra and wildebeest migrate between watering holes. Star-gazing in the dry season is breath-taking and allows guests to appreciate the natural beauty of the location. Speak to your Travel Specialist about trips to Chapman’s Baobab, one of the largest trees in Africa.
